I really like the strawberry! So far the orange cream and tropical made me gag. And I usually like those sort of flavors.

Are you aware RNY folks need eight of those a day to get the 200% of the RDA of things the ASMBS says we need?  Just making sure you knew.

No my dietician said these were fine.. she didn't mention anything of needing extra calcium. I like these for the idea of taking 1 chewable 4x a day rather than a bunch of other stuff. I will look them up though.

I wonder why she thinks you only need 100% of the RDA of most things, when the ASMBS says you need 200%.  I wonder why she thinks you only need 1200 mg calcium, and that you can absorb calcium carbonate, when the ASMBS says you need 1500 to 2000 mg calcium and that you need calcium citrate because you can't absorb carbonate?

As Kelly said, I would ask your dietician why she thinks you do not need what the ASMBS says you need (200% of the RDA of most vitamins and at least 1500mg of calcium citrate).  Perhaps (s)he is just mot aware of what they say we need.  You will also likely need more Vit D than what is in those vitamins.

I don't know if cost is a consideration for you, but with needing 8 pills a day of those versus 2 of Centrum or something similar, they become VERY expensive to take long term.

I know in some cases, when asked about things like this, doctors and dieticians have said they were unaware that Bariatric Fusion only provided half of what the ASMBS recommends - they hadn't actually read the label.  Since the company that sells the vitamin says it has everything we need in just four pills a day, they just assumed that was true without looking closer.  But in some cases, dieticians have said they were unaware of the ASMBS guidelines.

Kelly, I take 4 a day along with a b-complex vitamin.  That is what the bottle along with my doctor said to do. Now you make me wonder.......

I would wonder, too, why your doc thinks you only need half of what the ASMBS says we need.  Might want to ask him.  Also, I wonder why he thinks you don't need B12 - you can't absorb the B12 in the chewable multis because you don't have enough intrinsic factor in your pouch, which is why the ASMBS says you need a sublingual, nasal spray, or shots.
