Carbs vs. sugars
Another example is protein drinks that the dietician spoke about - they have 15 g of protein but 30 carbs. I haven't been taking those because the carb count is scaring me. lol
I would definitely pay attention to these. So many don't and end up not losing...then once they pay attention to these, they start losing weight again! Carbs turn into sugar in your body so having too many, can slow your weight loss down.
My program didn't really emphasize these enough whereas a friend of mine - well her program did..and she lost faster than me. It wasn't til I was a few years out that I really learned about the carb issue...and now as a longtimer, it's everything for me!
My friend was given no more than 30 grams of carbs per meal. Whereas I know other people who do 50 grams of carbs a day to get the weight off faster in their journey (and it seems to work for them). personally I wouldn't do a protein drink that has many carbs.

- This is how I eat:
- *Must eat at least 60 grams of Protein a day (80 or more grams beginning at 1200 calories a day)
- *Eat dairy products that are no fat/low fat
- *Eat simple (dairy, fruit) and complex (beans, vegetables, whole grains) Carbohydrates (I do not count daily grams)
- *No more than 15 grams of Sugar per meal (more grams if able to tolerate-I allow myself up to 30 grams Sugar per meal from Simple and Complex Carbohydrate sources and also from Dairy products that are no fat/low fat because I do not seem to dump on Sugar)
