I am just catching up on this message board...So sorry to hear about your need for a biopsy and all the related transportation hassles. I can relate to that, and all the feelings behind it sound exactly like some I have had myself at times. Know that I am thinking of you all the way from California, and sending you wishes for an easier time than you seem to be experiencing presently. All the best, always.

I have had several biopsies, some sedated, some not. I recommend sedation.....even if you wind up waiting in the recovery room for several hours afterwards until you are clear enough to drive yourself home, it is worth it....less pain, less anxiety...and they can't keep you there indefinitely because you don't have a driver.....however, if you show up without one, they might not do the procedure anyway..I have been known to pay a cab driver about ten bucks to pick me up and drive me to my parked car, which was parked less than a block from the hospital.... where I then drove home, after taking  a nap. It's hard sometimes, being alone.  Good luck to you.

Kelly, I'm sorry that what should be the most manageable part of this ordeal - the transportation - is proving to be the most arduous! It defies logic.... But do not beat yourself up about it! You're not the cause of people in your family or IRL not being available to you. It's easy to fixate on that part, but look at how many offers you've had just on this board alone.

And here's another one - - if you end up having to take a cab or book a hotel room, PM me a couple days before and I'll send you some funds via PayPal. You know I live too far away to offer a ride, but I can do money (and no, not married to Daddy Wharbucks, nor independently wealthy, I just work 2 jobs and help those in need!).

Proud of you for going to the surgeon & glad that you found one sensitive to anxiety concerns!!!
