Question about dumping.

So, is dumping only considered when you throw up and get the shakes etc from that?

A lot of times when I try and eat something, I will get a bad stomach ache within 5 minutes and have to run to the bathroom with #2 it's happened soooo many times. My stomach usually doesn't feel good for a few hours after also.

Dumping is a very specific physiological reaction to too much unprocessed sugar/carbs in your lower intestine.  It involves flushing, shaking, increased heart rate, lightheadedness or dizziness, sometimes nausea, intestinal cramping, and sometimes diarrhea.  Not every type of stomach upset is dumping.  Lots of people have intestinal trouble if they eat too much fat, but that isn't dumping, either.

What you are des dining just sounds like your body doesn't like want you are eating. I would suggest that you track what you eat and when it happens (and when it doesn't) so you can nail down what is causing the problem.  If many things cause it, you should contact your surgeon.

Good advice from Lora as usual.  I have had what you are describing and there are still some foods I cannot tolerate so I just don't eat them and in a month or so, I will try them again.
