I had RNY Feb 5. Almost 3 months and have bounced between 37-40 lost. I feel like I should be losing more? What's the average? I feel like I'm eating more and its scaring me.

I think a 40 lb loss is great for where you are..  I'm 6 weeks out (about half your time)  and I've lost 24 lbs since surgery.  I wi**** was a little faster but I'll take it as long as it's gone for good!! :P

From what I've read, the first month you lose a big amount (like maybe 20 lbs) and then after that its about 10 lbs a month.

Are you logging? I use My fitess pal and it helps me keep track and accountable!

I average 700-800 cals a day! 60+ g protein and. 8+ glasses of water!

It kinda depends on how big you were to start! Its hard to really compare!

I am 5 feet tall started at 258.4 lbs I am now at 211 lbs. I had surgery feb 19th RNY!

Hope this helps!

I'm 5 foot also and started at 239. So I guess I'm about average. I haven't been the best with my protein and I don't log.

RNY on 02/12/13

I had RNY on 2/12 and have lost 41 lbs.  I feel like my weight loss has been slow as well, but when I look at others who have had surgery around the same time, many people are pretty similar.  I use myfitnesspal to log my calories and protein, which is a big help.  I think you're doing great!
