I wouldnt realize I was full even if it slapped me in the face
2 wks post op so you're still on liquids.. or full fluids.. slowly adding solids right?
Once you're able to add more solids.. you'll feel satisfied & full.
When I am full.. I feel it in my left shoulder or under my left breast.
When I am too full I get a pain or uncomfortable pressure in the same area.
Follow your guidelines closely.. stick to them & there is nothing to worry about.
I found cream of wheat to be a wonderful meal to eat.. it kept me feeling full longer.
Sadly.. this surgery gives us the tool to succeed & get rid of the weight.. but it doesn't change our way of thinking or how we see ourselves.
I know I used to look at what I was told to eat & think.. "that will never fill me up."
It did though.. I'm almost 2yrs post op.
Again.. stay strong & stick to your surgeon's post op guidelines.

Listen very carefully to your body. You may not FEEL a full sensation, but chances are it will give you signals. For example, about 15-20 minutes after I start eating, I will get a kind of hiccup/burp kind of thing. It will happen when I swallow, or a few seconds after. When that starts, I know I'm full. My nose will also tend to start running. Really pay attention to any changes your body may make about 20 minutes into a meal. If there is anything that you can see as recurring about the same time into each meal, that is likely a full signal. One you know what your signals are, it is easy to gage when your body is full, and stopping at that point will become second nature as long as yu stay in tune with your body. Good luck to you :)

This is exactly what happens to me. I thought I was the only one!
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

No need to worry about being able to drink a lot. You cannot damage anything by drinking "too much" and it will keep you from becoming dehydrated. Also, it is actually pretty difficult to stretch your pouch since it is made from the LEAST stretchy portion of the stomach. The only way to stretch your pouch is too significantly overeat on a regular basis. You will NOT stretch your pouch by eating 2 or 3 ounces instead of only 1.5 ounces.
You may be experiencing head hunger rather than physical hunger if you are feeling hungry after eating. People who are obese often end up ignoring their body's actual physical hunger signals and base their eating on head hunger instead. I was started out on 2 ounces of food, but I would be surprised if eating even just one ounce would leave you physically hungry. Most people don't feel physical hunger for many weeks or months after surgery.

Water should go down just like before, very few have to actually just take sips. My doc expects everyone to be able to drink like "normal" within a week or two of surgery. Drinking can not stretch your pouch! don't worry about it.
Secondly your nerves have been cut and you won't feel full or hungry for a little bit (at least most don't), you will probably experience head hunger for a while but that is just your brain talking. Eat the amount your doctor told you to eat as many times as he told you to eat and just stick with it. If you feel like you are hungry in between meals drink some more water. You'll learn to tell head hunger shortly.
Measure and eat what you are told to max. If you feel satisfied before that then don't pu****; you will know if you overeat I promise.
Not having problems getting in enough liquid is a good thing, keep drinking.
