Hello all,

I have been off of birth control since a month before my surgery (4 months total). My period has returned to normal (was basically non-existent since surgery) and am now ready to get back on it. Just looking for any brand recommendations. Any kind you really like? Minimal side-effects?

Thanks all

I use condoms.  No side effects.  I don't have a preferred brand.  Whatever brand my partner likes is fine.

It's my understanding that the pill may not be real effective after RNY due to issues with absorption.

I decided not to use anything with hormones on the advice of my doctor, due to a family  history of breast cancer and a personal history of depression, plus I want to avoid anything that may cause weight gain.

I was on the depo shots for about a year right after surgery but the hormones along with the hormones released from losing weight about drove me coo-koo (I did not gain any weight from the shots). Now I'm old and my bf is fixed, so I don't have to worry about it anymore kiss

In my last relationship, my partner had a vasectomy.  That is by far my preferred method of birth control.  However, since we split up, I had to come up with a second choice.  Apparently some guys don't want to get get a vasectomy before you go to bed with them.

I know!  Do you think I should make that a requirement before a second date?
