Ugh, I am nauseous.

I have been nauseous for the past week.  I feel like I have morning sickness, but I swear there is absolutely no way I am pregnant.

I also feel like I felt when I had gall stones, but since I have not had a gall bladder for almost four years  now, that can't be the problem either.

Last Monday morning I was having a LOT of back pain and I thought maybe the pain was making me nauseous.  Then I took pain meds on an empty stomach (because I was in too much pain to stand up and walk to the kitchen to get something to eat, even something as simple as a protein bar) and I thought maybe that was making me nauseous.  Then I started taking a new medication (Cymbalta) on Tuesday and I took it Tuesday and Wednesday and thought maybe that was making me nauseous.  Then I didn't take it for a couple days to see if the nausea would go away and Saturday I felt a lot better but then last night I started feeling nauseous again and this morning I feel like crap.

So I don't know what's causing it but I'm sick of it already.  I weighed myself yesterday and I lost three pounds last week, I assume because I was so nauseous I didn't want to eat anything.  But I have stuff to do, I don't have time to lie on the couch and feel pukey.  And I don't want to feel pukey.

When I first start taking my cymbalta I am very nauseous.  It lasts for about a week.  I feel awful at first then it evens out and by two weeks in i feel better; and, more importantly my mood is much better.  I hope that is all it is.

Hope you feel better soon.

I think maybe I have a UTI.  I'm not sure if that would cause nausea or not, but this morning it hurts when I pee, so I am going to call my PCP as soon as his office opens.

I'm thinking that's what it is.  My back pain has also been worse this past week and apparently that is also a symptom of kidney infection or sometimes UTI.  It didn't start hurting when I pee until this morning so it never occurred to me that might be the problem until this morning.

I have an appt with my PCP tomorrow morning.  They could not get me in until then.  I think I'm going to go buy some cranberry juice and see if that helps any in the meantime.

Kidney stones can also cause pain on urination, nausea, and back pain (dull or sharp).  Those are the exact symptoms (although my nausea was very mild) that took me to my PCP last month, and I also thought it was a UTI.  The urine sample showed +3 blood (even though not visible), but the culture was negative so he ordered the ultrasound which showed the three stones.  I had never heard of pain when urinating as a symptom of kidney stones, but apparently it can happen when small stones are in the urethra or bladder.  I hope yours is just a UTI, but wanted to let you know that it could be stones.

Lovely.

You know how much I hate doctors.  Well, I cannot wait to go to the doctor tomorrow because it hurts like crazy when I pee now.  I can't imagine how it didn't hurt at all yesterday and hurts that much this morning.  But it hurts.

Well, you know how suddenly stones can move...  I still hope it is just a UTI that you can get antibiotics for and be done with the whole thing!

I hope the cranberry juice helps if it is a UTI. I was concerned it would be off limits with RNY. Feel better soon!!!
