OT - Need another spine injection
If its not one thing, it's another. My blood sugars are all over the place. Anywhere from as high as 158, down to 57. It's driving me insane that I can't get it regulated.
But now I am also dealing with the pain in my back. I had my first injection on May 8 and I got relief for a few weeks, but now my back is killing me. I walked 2.5 miles and did some strengthening today and now I can barely walk. So the spine specialist says to do another injection. When I first went to him, he said two injections at the most and then we would HAVE TO talk surgery. So I pray this injection can last longer than a few weeks.
Tis is just a whine post. Sorry. If any has any suggestions on regulating my blood sugars or any suggestions for my back, please let me know, all information/suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Oh ack, this sounds painful and short lived!
Wishing you all the best!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
I am so sorry you are going through this. I can't help with the blood sugar. I have a suggestion for your back however ... find a physical therapist that has a pool and does aqua-therapy. It will let you do strengthening exercises without putting strain on your back. I have a 10 year history with hip bursitis, dozens of injections, several physical therapists and more ... it is finally getting better with exercising in the water (and losing 85 pounds!). I had tried exercising in a pool over the years, but was actually still doing stuff to aggravate my hip and back.
Also, my medical team (physical therapist, osteopath, pain specialist) have all told me that losing weight changes your center of gravity and the way you walk ... thus making back pain worse (or creating it for the first time). I haven't heard a lot about this in the WLS community but it has certainly been my experience.
Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you for this idea! I have never thought about it before. I just looked up and found one in my area. Definitely going to talk to my doctor about going there. I need it for my back, knee and they specialize in Fibro as well.
So thank you again!
I had my first injection for my herniated disc last Thursday i have had some relief but still having pain 5 days later. I am wondering if i am going to need another one as well. I have horrible left leg pain all the way down though that is keeping me pretty much bed ridden. They want me to do physical therapy.. but how i am on pain meds and cannot drive plus i would think in that amount of pain and them manipulating stuff it will make it worse. I want to avoid surgery too. Goodluck to you.
