2 days post op Probably just freaking out for nothing
Ok. I haven't had much of an appetite but I've made myself try to drink some water, a little warm broth and now I'm having a blended protein shake with ice and water. I feel like I'm able to tolerate normal spoon sizes with the protein shake and even when I was drinking the broth and water. I know they say that you aren't going to feel full because of nerves being cut but should I have to watch the amount of Liquid that I'm taking in at one time if it isn't bothering me?
also, are most people able to tolerate their liquids at the beginning? I was just able to finish an 8 oz protein shake in about ten minutes. Do I need to slow down?

I was told to stay hydrated, and constantly sip liquids, and to aim for the right amount of protein. I did not feel full right at first either and then one day, wow was I full. The danger is to not drink enough and thus become dehydrated. Did your surgeon give you specific advice or a handout on how many liquids was too many? Always follow the guidelines that your surgeon or NUT suggests, of course. I find it helps to write down everything I eat and all my fluids so I can see from day to day what works and how I feel after I eat.

I was told at least 20 minutes per meal, so if my protein shake was a meal I tried to makes it last that long, mostly because I want to be in the habit and routine of having that much time set for eating. I think i drank one in about ten minutes and it kind of freaked me out and reminded me to slow down.
You are not likely to hurt yourself with liquids.
If you chug more air it can cause discomfort.
My doc was happy with 2 ounces every 15 minutes. They never said I could not do more.
My pouch woke up after 3 weeks, then I had 2 weeks where anything cold was like drinking shards of glass. The tummy nerves can be crazy.
I don't have any professional opinions, but I think my program doesn't mind if you drink quickly. They say if you can't finish something in around 20 minutes then you should just stop. I think liquids are different. Drink those at your own pace. In the very beginning, I wasn't able to drink much of my protein drinks at all. It only took a day or two before I could drink an entire 8 oz protein drink. I just mixed the powder with milk, no ice or anything, so it was a lot less bulky. I still have to drink protein drinks more slowly than water. I'm only 2 and a half weeks out, so it's not like I have a lot of experience with it, but this is my experience.
