new research - - big duh?
I recently came across this article that seems to support what a lot of successful WLSers already do - but perhaps for varied reasons! Not everyone endorses food addiction or avoids white carbs as part of their life, but this article seems to suggest that high-glycemic foods really do trigger those addictive centers of the brain.... Yet another reason to stay away from white carbs!

One of the best courses I took in undergrad was Biology of Eating Disorders & Obesity - - it was mind-blowing to know all the neurotransmitters that can go awry and lead to biophysical obesity. SO much research is needed on that front!

You are so right. And I think there is a genetic component at work too--the science behind obesity has not been addressed with the sense of urgency that it needs to be........I am very interested in learning all I can about it-thanks for sharing this information, and I would LOVE to take the class you mentioned!!
