I know not to compare myself to other people but I'm not really losing anything. I'm still on liquids until my dr appt tomorrow so I figured that would kick start my weight loss. I was up to 10 lbs lost since surgery at one week and then  I have had a few complications since surgery with the hematoma under my incision so I'm assuming that having that extra blood and fluid collection has messed me up, being back in the hospital on fluids has made me gain and then of course the pain I was in has prevented me from being as active and I wanted to be. I'm hoping this is just a temporary hold up and now that this hematoma is taken care of I will be able to do this. I'm just worried just like any one else will be.

I had a complication, too, and ended up with more than my share of IV fluids, along with several units of blood. It just takes a while for the body to adjust to the trauma it's been through. You'll get there!

Bey1689, you have been through alot.  Give your body time to recover.  I know it's hard when all you want is to get going on this journey and you have had a major road bump, so I am surprised you are doing as well as you are!  hang tight.  If anything this surgery teaches us to literally to take one day at a time, even an hour at a time when you will have peaks and valleys on this journey.  You will be amazed once things get moving and remember, the scale is an evil creature that stares at you in the bathroom egging you on so it can screw with your head.  Clothes, clothes, clothes.  THAT was a real tale-tale sign of weight loss.  I would stand in front of my full length mirror and smile and go, wow!  Trust us, stay on your program drink, walk and do your best on your protein.  That is hard.  Do you have a shake you can tolerate? As time goes on you will get to eat.

Take care and keep posting.  Stay with OH.  Even when things go awry on here, it's like family the dust settles after awhile.  A real dysfunctional family!   Hahahaha  Janekiss

Hope you are feeling better. Don't stress yourself out since it will slow your healing process too. Follow your doctors rule and menu to the "T." Make sure you are drinking liquids so that hosiptal stuff gets flushed out of your body too. Keep eating your vitamins, fluids, and proteins, and add some walking to get stuff moving in the right direction. Watch out for constipation, since the waste is lots of extra pounds too, if you have not had a little BM yet. Yeah gross, but you got to think about it too, for your health sake.

I'm sorry you've had problems! I am 5 weeks out and I lost the first week, and then nothing from then til 4 weeks out when I lost 4 lbs, and now nothing again. They say it is because our bodies are healing and struggling with our new way of eating and calorie intake. Hang in there! I am down 20 lbs since surgery + 9 Lbs from my two week liquid diet for a total of 29lbs in 7 weeks. A 30% ewl.
