Help! I need some motivation...be nice, mean, insult me...something!!! Get me off my...
Do you have any exercise equipment in your home -- a treadmill, stationary bike, free weights? How about a Wii Fit? Maybe you are just bored of your routine and aren't a gym person...I personally am not and at this weight still not comfortable exercising in front of others. I have a stationary bike and I walk about 45mins-1hour everyday. What about taking classes at the gym like beginners Zumba, some Yoga, etc.? Anytime you become bored and start dreading your routine means it's time to change it up imho and add something new in! Oh and do you have an iPad or something that you can watch Netflix on while you're exercising? I like to set my iPad up on my bike and the time just flies by.
Our treadmill (doesn't go beyond the speed of a slow walk) and the exercycle are both used as a shoe/coat rack and I just don't use them at home. When I was going to the gym regularly, I loved the bike and there are several TVs to watch while riding th bike or walking on the treadmill.
I was just talking with my daughter about getting a Wii dance program so I can dance. I love to dance, but not necessarily in public...sober. I don't drink anymore, so I'm not sure I would dance in public now?
Thank you for the suggestions and motivation,
Janet
I'm sorry that you are in a stall! I hate that. I haven't stalled, so much, but my loss was reeeeaaallly slowed at one point. It seems like it took forever for that 201 to go to 199.
Just have to keep that goal in mind! Mine is not necessarily a number, though...mine is more about health and medications. So far, I've eliminated many meds. I want to get to the point that I'm only on vitamins.
It might help you, too, to not weigh often? I only weigh at the doctor visits or when I go into the weight management center. Occasionally...very seldom, actually, weigh at home. The scale is far down in a junk room, out of sight, and a hassle to get to. I use it only as a reference.,,? The doctor's scale is what I use as the "gospel" weight. :D
I've lost 13 pounds in 4 weeks. I weigh every day because I'm interested in seeing the day-to-day. I'm prepared for stalls since I've read so much about them on here. I'm not upset by this, but I'm wondering how long the stall usually lasts. Yesterday I lost over a pound but this morning I gained it all back plus some. It's been going back and forth lately, so I'm guessing it would average out if I only weighed once a week.
I need a real job! I think that's part of my problem, as well. I was a nurse for neary 30 years and just stopped after working a very difficult night. It's been nearly 3 years of no real job. I do some volunteer, working at my daughter's dance studio desk to offset lessons, and I help an elderly woman with her medications, meals and running errands.
It's just making myself get back to my routine.
I started today!
Thank you so much for your kind words,
Janet
