Discharged today-2 oz.
I'm ten days ahead of you. Try putting something in the water. Many people have the same issue. I'm drinking herbal teas myself. I specifically asked my surgeon about drinking and he said that since it just lows right thru, I can have as much as I can tolerate. After our last heat wave I was worried about being dehydrated. At Costco I got pre made Premier protein shakes and have one after every meal (waiting half an hour first of course).
*flows not lows
Good luck!
You drink your 2 ounces of protein AT LEAST every couple of hours, that's how. Usually, though, surgeons instruct post-ops to sip almost continually all day long to make sure they get enough fluids. If you are on liquids only, then you can sip something with protein all day if necessary.
As far as drinking, many people find plain water can be a problem. Try adding some lemon or drinking things like Crystal Light or other zero calorie, non-carbonated flavored waters. Some people do better with warm liquids like tea at first.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I agree with Lora. Sipping is the way to go. Nectar Protein is delicious and can be mixed with water. Shake it up in a shaker and sip on it. I found that the colder something was, the easier it went down. Some people are the opposite, warmer feels best. Its the hardest in the beginning. As you heal, you will be able to tolerate more. Best wishes on your journey ;)
