I am 3.5 weeks post surgery.  During the first 2 weeks I was loosing up to 3lbs a day.  At the end of the second week the weight loss has completely stopped.  I have been at the same weight now since Sunday.  Need help, any ideas - I have an appointment with Nutrionist but looking for ideas in the meantime.  Currently on Full Liquid diet

I'm still pre-op, but I'm often seeing post-ops on here talking about the 3 week stall. I guess it's normal. Just keep doing what you're doing and the scale will move again.

It is the 3 week stall almost everyone goes through. I started mine at 3 weeks and it lasted for 4 weeks. Try staying off the scale (I know I didn't and got really frustrated) You will still be losing inches even if your scale isn't moving.

Completely normal. I had my first stall at three weeks. Now, it's the three month stall.

My idea is to stop weighing yourself so often.  Your weight loss has not stopped.  You are going to lose a whole lot more weight.  But you will not lose every day or even every week.  That's just the way weight loss works.  If that causes you to be anxious or upset, stay off the scale for a whle.

Thanks Everyone - your insight has been really helpful!!  I need to stop stepping on the scale everyday with high hopes and just let things happen.

Joe,

I am 3.5 weeks out as well and experiencing the same stall. I have decided to remove the batteries from my scale to not be a "slave" to it. I have been told that this is normal, but that info has come from friends, not doctors.

Mine stopped for 3 weeks at 3 weeks out. I finally decided to stay off the scale to save my sanity. Sounds like you're right on track and doing great!

I am 4.5 weeks post surgery.  I have no idea whether I've had a stall or not because I don't own a scale.  I have been reading on here to have faith and trust the process and the miracle will happen.  I believe in following my surgeon's suggestions as well as having patience is the key to my ultimate success and happiness. Good luck !

You have not stopped losing... you are in a stall.  We all go through them.  And this probably  won't be the only one you have.  The body keeps having to readjust to it changing status.  There is no way you won't lose more weight.  Just keep following your program.  Also, pay attention to how your clothes fit over the next few weeks and take measurements. Do not depend completely on the scale for the whole story of your weight loss journey.
