The farther out from RNY the worse RH can be.

Apparently!  :(   I am trying to trim down carbs all around now, but it is tricky with my level of training.  Last week I had a sweet potato and did ok, so I might can go that route, though that is more of a post-workout than pre.

I'm 2 years 2 months out and while I don't have RH, I have had a few instances of issues over foods that had previously given me no problems.  And I'm not sure what to call these instances:  mini-dump, minor RH reaction or just a rush of sugar/insulin (mild RH) from the small intestines into the the blood stream too quickly.

So I've learned to be very cautious around sugary/high fat foods (which ultimately I should be doing anyway so it becomes a check-balance system).  And I do really try very diligently to combine my carbs/protein/fat in every meal/snack.  Of course, sometimes I don't and that's when I've learned to pay strict attention to serving size, sugar content and fat content and cautiously enjoy in limited portions.

As I've normalized my diet and intake, that's when these issues (relatively minor) have come to light.  So I view this a yellow caution light to remind me to remain vigilent and conscious of my dietary limitations in this lifestyle.

Yeah I tended to get kind of careless with my choices since I didn't dump.  Then the RH started so I was a little more aware of sugar content.  This is the first time I have even suspected carbs of anything.  Blah.
