Home and Well

I had my surgery yesterday and everything went well. The Doctor said he was surprised how easily my band came out and even said he was able to make my pouch as small as he would with a first time patient.

The program I am on requires me to do 3 pureed meals a day, the first I tried a homemade white bean chilli which went down fine but I have decided it was a little too rich and will wait before having it again. The I had 2 teaspoons of ricotta bank. I have managed about 52 ounces of water but am still working on it.

I still need to go get a few of the vitamins I need like D3 and Calcium citrate.

I am so glad to be on the other side and cant wait to not need pain meds so frequently.

Thank you! I dont have a strong support group through my doctors program so I am going to be using OH as that support group. My family and friends are supportive but having someone who has been through the surgery is sometimes easier to relate too.

Congratulations! What are some of the things you have been doing on pureed? My doc wanted me on pureed right away but that has been hard but I had eggfaces ricotta bake and that went down well. I am tolerating shakes and water well at least.

Its great having someone go through all this at the same time so we can lean on each other.

How are you feeling I know you had a rough first week?

I'm doing stage 1 baby food, puréed chili, tuna with lf mayo and mustard, cottage cheese. Still getting most of my protein from my drinks tho.

I'm still dealing with infection and it is slowing my recovery. Trying to do what I can, I just get really tired.

Hope you continue to do well.
