hypoglycemia
I deal with the dumping syndrome by not eating things high in sugar.
I have reactive hypoglycemia and deal with it by eating every three hours or so, and including some protein with each meal or snack. I'm usually fine as long as I don't eat something with lots of carbs and no protein. Like, a big bowl of popcorn will have my blood sugar dropping in a couple hours, very low. If that happens, then I eat something with some carbs and some protein, like a protein bar. Brings it back up fast. But mostly I avoid eating things that are likely to trigger a big drop like that.

Reactive hypoglycaemia is very common in our population and for most of us is easily controlled by diet. Use the search function and you will find a wealth of information.
This question comes up about weekly - it's that common!
A good tip is if an endo or any doctor tries to medicate you or suggests surgery BEFORE discussing diet first - run!

As Kelly said, you can avoid dumping by not eating foods with too much sugar or too many carbs. That is a pretty simple fix.
When you say "hypoglycemia" do you mean regular hypoglycemia or reactive hypoglycemia? (Does it happen a while after you eat or does it happen when you and not eaten for quite a while?) Some of what you can do about it depends on which type you are talking about. For either type, though, having a combination of carbs, protein, and a little fat at every meal seems to be the best way to avoid problems.
Many people develop RH after RNY. I don't know whether people who were not hypoglycemic before RNY actually develop it afterwards or not, but those who had it before the RNY can find that it is worse after surgery.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I eat mostly proteins , fats, and carbs from non-starchy veggies.
A lot of people suggest complex carbs, from grains but that really made my RH worse - not better. I removed gluten from my diet, most grains, and starchy veggies. It was challenging at first, but now it is easy to follow. Eggs, veggies, meat, fish, cheese, nuts, etc... Are really great selection... Good luck.
