Protein shake or bar?
For those of you who were told to get additional protein through whey, which do you prefer? I just started trying the bars, and I think I prefer them at the moment. I get to eat, which satisfies that emotional/mental "need," plus I was sick and tired of my shake.
The calories on the bars are slightly higher, which is sad, and they take longer to eat because I can only get in 1/2 at a sitting.
Which do you like better? Is there an advantage or disadvantage I'm overlooking?

My favorite is the EAS Carb control protein shake pre-made. They're super easy, grab and go and most of them are only 100 calories. This for me has been a good source of water and protein (17g) each. So far as bars go, I love the Atkins peanut and chocolate bars. Super yummy but haven't experienced yet with Sugar Alcohols so I have no idea what role they will play with my new system. Usually they can cause diarrhea when taken in higher amounts.
I have a protein shake for breakfast because food makes me feel pukey for a few hours if I eat breakfast. I probably should have another shake at night because I don't think I'm getting all my protein in.
My program says no protein bars because they're glorified candy bars. Power Crunch bars are soooo tasty, though.

It really depends on what I am in the mood for. I was buying the Detour low sugar bars and then all of a sudden (I mean same day!) I went from liking them to finding them disgustingly sweet a few months out. Now I rotate between four flavors of Quest bars, which are less sweet to me. My husband swears they are just as sweet.
