New Pouch Question?

Quick question... How long does it take for the New pouch to completely heal? I will be 1 Month post op on Tuesday . And also is soft Crab Meat ok to eat 1 month out like a soft Crab Cake?

Crab meat would probably be fine if your at that stage in your diet. But the crab cake means bread... and im pretty sure you shouldnt be eating that at 1 mo out.

It takes about 4 weeks for the pouch to heal up.

crab is probably ok, assuming that you are eating soft foods or regular foods at this point, but crab cakes are often more breading or other filler than crab (and most of the time they are fried, so they aren't a good choice IMO (and might make you sick if you are sensitive to fat content).

My doc says the insides are healed at 3 wks; but 4 is surely safe. 

The crab is good - but I agree with the others... the "cake" part is probably asking for trouble.  Will probably sit too heavy. There was no way I could tolerate fried at that point either.

Try Red Lobster for Crab Legs!! I get them to go all the time.
