An Amazing feeling. I ran... and Zombies weren't chasing me

Today I started training for my first 5k (In March) I hope to run the whole thing. Going into the gym I was really worried about the workout. I had a brisk 5m warmup walk and then I would jog for a minute, walk for 1:30 for 20 minutes. I didn't have any problem....I did the whole workout just fine walking at 3.5 and jogging at 5.5 sometimes 6mph, and I didn't quit. I didn't die. I didn't even think I was about to die. And heres the real kicker. Im excited to do it again on Wednesday. Tomorrow I'll do weight lifting because my Couch to 5k program is 3 days a week of cardio. I never thought id say it but I actually enjoy my time at the gym. 7 months ago I would be in tears after the first minute of jogging because I couldn't do it and I was out of breath. 7 months ago I wouldn't have even TRIED.

Just finished my post workout protein shake. Now im hopping in the shower and heading to the nutritionist. Hopefully she doesn't yell at me. I've had a pretty unhealthy past few weeks. But I made the appointment to hopefully help me get back on track. I have about 30 more pounds id like to lose and ive been stuck in the 165-170 range for 2 months now. Maybe she can help.

Hope everyone has a happy healthy day.

That is super! I was doing the C25K program until this past Sat and I was able to do a 5K by the 4th week, but keep improving my times and durations. Saturday I ran the whole thing and it was AWESOME! You will love it! Be sure to get fitted at a running store for the right shoes!

Yay you!

That's awesome! I wish you had some secret to this you could share. I want to run, but it does make me feel like I'm dying after 30 seconds or so. Usually my first minute isn't too bad, but the rest I have to force. Doesn't stop me, but I wish I liked it more!

I'm using a couch to 5k app, just search C25K, the one I have is free and takes 8 weeks!

I to am doing couch to 5k.  I ran for 3.30 minutes and it was wonderful and terrible!  My body fat/skin was beating me up.  Any suggestions.  I am wearing a good support bra, but my belly was just jiggling like crazy.

Thanks for any input.

I am an inch taller and 25 lbs heavier and don't have any belly issues. What are you wearing? I wear running capris and they hold everything firm!
