Movies, but no popcorn

Popcorn is actually a very healthy snack, so don't be afraid of it. It only becomes unhealthy when it gets slathered with the "topping" the theater uses. In that sense, popcorn is like a salad --healthy until you add 1,000 calories of crap on top. Get yourself a small bag, and don't fret. But since the theater also pops theirs in oil, you can save a few calories, as others have pointed out, and bring your own.

I take a little baggy of sugar-free popcorn flavored jelly beans to suck on. I limit it to one serving of about 35 jelly beans. I've done this once and it worked well.

We went to 2 movies over the past 2 weeks, and both times my hubby got popcorn. We used to get the bottomless and I would eat most of the bucket. I love this popcorn. So what I did was cut up pieces of beef jerky, and munched on that while he ate his popcorn. I'm not going to lie, it was really hard, but eating my protein helped me because I knew that I was not hungry, that is was just in my head. I can't not go to movies and I can't ask my husband to eat differently, so I do what I need to do to reduce the temptation.

My nut discourages popcorn until six months because of the carbs and because the kernels are thick. She said a lot of people have trouble with that. I don't, but I suggest if you want to try, eat it at home first.

Interesting. Is that just because of the kernels, I'm guessing? Because the popcorn part melts away. Or is he seeing people that didn't eat it carefully enough?
