You need a full panel of labs. Tingling and dumbness could be vitamin B-12 or B-1 deficiency. Sharp chest pains mean get your ass to the ER. You have been having lots if trouble it's time for some help and although you don't want to be in the hospital you probably should be.

You need nutrition and IV fluids. You won't get better unless something takes place. You cannot survive without liquids and some nutrition. A feeding tube, although not what you want is probably your best bet.

A  reversal is serious busy. You do not want to go this route unless absolutely necessary.

Honey you you need to take care of yourself. I'm worried about you not getting liquids in and vomiting So much. DEMAND an EDG. You will need to be an advocate for yourself.

If it were me I'd be in the ER right now.

As do I!

And if the hospital you went to (I can only imagine what you are getting in Stockton!) I'd go to UCD or UCSF or another hospital that has their business together!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Unfortunately, a RNY reversal is much more complicated than doing the procedure in the first place, and most surgeons have never done (and therefore will not do) a reversal. It is truly a very last resort (because sometimes people find that things don't work the same as they did before they had any surgery and that they continue to have some digestive issues). I understand that you are feeling discouraged, but if you are keeping the idea of a reversal in the back of your mind as an option, you might want to let go of that so you can make decisions about more viable options.

It sounds like you NEED to be hospitalized... Like NOW, not tomorrow. Seeing spots and running into things should tell you that your body is seriously suffering from malnutrition or some kind of chemical imbalance and that you need medical attention.  I also agree that it sounds like you are depressed, which is not helping matters, I'm sure.  I'm to sure what your objection to antidepressants is, but usually the objection is the side effects and some of the newer drugs (the SNRIs instead of SSRIs) have far fewer side effects.

it also sounds like you need someone to be with you to help you be an advocate for yourself to make sure that you do receive proper care in the hospital.  Is there someone who can be with you and talk to the doctors with you, ask questions, get clarifications, etc.?  A friend or family member?

please do what you need to do in order to get yourself healthy.

Dear LostInAParkingLot,

PLEASE!  Get help now.  What you are describing is not what anyone would consider normal.  Your surgeon may just have the answers you seek.  Speak to some doctor.  If not your surgeon than your PCP!

I'm worried about you too and really feel it would be best for you to be in the hospital, preferably admitted through the ER tonight.  This business of seeing spots and running into walls suggests something is seriously wrong and I'm concerned about your heart.

Are you home alone? If so, can you get someone to come and help you? This is not a good time to be alone, especially since you may pass out and hurt yourself.

I second the idea that you need a family member of friend to be an advocate for you at the hospital, someone to track down the nurse or doctor if you are not getting the help you need. There should be also be a patient advocate or ombudsman at the hospital to smooth things for you. Ask for that person as soon as you go in and explain what happened last time and your fears.  The advocates are really truly there to help you--you just have to ask for their help!!!  You could even get their phone extension before you go into the hospital and keep it handy for when you need help.

Please take very good care of yourself!  You can and will get through this! Sending a hug.
