Protein differences

My surgery is this coming Wednesday,November 20th. I attended a half day nutrition class, however, they did not clarify the differences in proteins. By that I mean...what is the difference in purchasing a low carb, low fat whey protein isolate from Walmart or GNC and the ones that are sold by Bariatric Advantage. Any feedback would be appreciated. I have been on the 14-day pre-op diet and have been using an inexpensive powder from Walmart, mainly because I like the taste better than any of the others I have tried.

I do not know enough about other brands to give a comparison. But if you are using one that fits the guidelines if your surgeon and nutritionist then just keep on with that!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I used the cheap whey isolate from walmart because it was acccessible and affordable for a mom with two in college and I liked the taste too. I did just fineband you will too!

As long as it is whey protein (preferably whey isolate) or egg white protein, it doesn't matter how expensive it is.  What you will almost certainly find is that you won't mind paying more for one that you can actually tolerate as far as taste, smell, and texture!  Don't buy any big containers of ANYTHING yet.  Buy lots of small containers or samples, because there is no way to know whether something you think is great now will be something you can even hold your nose and drink after surgery.

Avoid pea protein and other kinds because you won't absorb the protein as well, and do NOT buy anything that says "collagen" in it because you will absorb almost none if it!
