Apollo Revision

I have not seriously considered any of the possible revisions that are available.  I'm not even sure if I'm a good candidate for a revision.  A nurse at the hospital yesterday told me about  the Apollo and told me that a local doctor had had great success.  If I am to consider any revision it will only be after researching all the options.  Tuesday night sounds like a good option.  I've just been struggling with so much embarrassment and shame that telling other people about my status was overwhelming.  I'll try to be at the next Tuesday session.

Well, I hope you know no one in our group is going to think poorly of you for not having the results you'd like from your WLS.  I think getting support will be helpful whether you end up seeking a revision or not.  Plus we've missed you.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor.  Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me.  If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her.    Check out my blog.

Joyce, I'd be so happy to hear you on our Tuesday night group!! We've kept it going, and it's a credit to you, so please remember that none of us look upon you poorly in the least!

Rather than taking a surgical approach, you might have much more success by resolving your emotional attachment to food through therapy. It's been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing (surgery) repeatedly and expecting different results. To me, the surgery as a tool is 20% of the long term success of WLS and the remaining 80% is the "head" changes we make.

Cognitive therapy is an especially good tool that quickly gets to the root of the problem behavior and turns your thinking around.  Good luck!
