Good Luck!!!! You will do great! They are top notch there! Get up and walk as soon as you can and walk OFTEN!!!!! Increase your laps when you can. This will jump start everything for you on your road to recovery! AND stay hydrated! SIP SIP SIP!!!!!!!!!

Follow the plan when you get home! Use that Sample Sheet for weeks 1-4 that was in the packet we got at our pre op class! I made copies of that and checked off everything I did everyday and added my vitamin and med schedule to it!!!!!

Let us know how things go!!!!!!!!

This is a Sample Meal, Vitamin, and Exercise Schedule for weeks 1-4 after surgery given to me by St. Vincent's in Carmel. Please check your pre op packet for this sheet and use it to help plan your days after surgery.

Before you leave the hospital they will give you a vitamin B 12 shot and an IV infusion of Thiamine- Do not start these until after one month post op.

Don not start protein drinks until day 5 post op.( according to the packet )

Addition supplements to add in are : A PROBIOTIC, DRY VITAMIN D, and an IRON supplement. Do not take Iron and calcium together.

My add ins are in RED.

You will also have to factor in 2 other meds they give you after surgery- Omprezole, a capsule you take once a day. Carafate, a liquid you take 4 times a day.
