Has anyone tried this?

I think so. I had my post-op nutrition class a few weeks ago, and their way to remember was "8 is enough", as in 8 grams or less per serving. You could probably go a *few* grams more, but I think I've seen some posts before that said much more, and you're in danger of dumping. (Someone please correct me if I'm remembering wrong.) Do you have guidelines from your surgeon's office?
I am no nutritionist, but for myself, I would say that it is way too much. Particularly when there are other proteins out there with just as much protein, but with no sugar, no carbs and far less calories. (i.e. - Syntrax Nectar).
That is probably way too much! I don't dump easily at all (I can eat about 1/2 cup of regular full fat, full sugar ice cream without dumping) and that would probably make even me dump!
Most surgeons tell people to limit their sugar intake to single digits at first, and even half a serving of that would still be much more than that.
Lora
(edited to add clarification: in items like this, you have no way of knowing how much of that sugar is from lactose if it has milk in it, but to be safe you have to assume it is ALL added sugar if you want of be sure you don't get sick.)

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
That's too much sugar for me. I try not to go over 15 grams, but I prefer a protein shake with no sugar or no more than a couple grams. Do you eat things with that much sugar?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
