post op RNY problem?

Normal is a hard thing to define. My husband had the same surgery by the same surgeon and our experiences were different (he looked like he'd been beaten with a baseball bat for example) while I was more 'oozing' than he was. So if you have a concern, call your surgeon. They can tell you if you need to come in or not and better safe than sorry when so newly post-op!

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
Yes, it is common. That is the area where the majority of the internal work was done. As long as it does not turn red and/or become hot, etc (signs of info to on) and doesn't worsen, it is nothing to worry about! The swelling and bruising will fade and the indentation will fade (partly when the swelling fades, partly over time).

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

My left side had what I can only describe as a dent! That is where the majority if work was done and I was told where they were moving the camera around. The dent was very noticeable and hung around until a lot of my swelling in my waist and stomach subsided...so about 4 weeks.
As others mentioned, if it becomes red and hot, call your surgeon as those may be signs of infection.
Best wishes!
