WOW you ate very little for your day, including 40 minutes of cardio.  I am impressed.  Stay warm!

I marked my calendar for 12 weeks after surgery so I can have brussels sprouts.  I miss them so much!!!

I love that you have a gym like that, I belong to about the best one up here but not that 'primo' :O)  But I HAVE spent TWO (count 'em 2) Alaska dividends on trainers.  Learned a lot, lost nothing but boy did I get strong.  Now it's just a lot of working out lifting weights, running, swimming, plus a spin class and a Sat training class. Let us know how it goes for ya!

B: chike shake

L: Wedge of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and couple oz turkey breast with balsalmic vinegar

D: 2 oz steak tenderloin and 1/4 apple

All my vitamins and all my water... Looks like another light day for me, but NO time to exercise today, so probably a good thing.  TOO much to do and not enough time to do it. I am now baking the most expensive cake I've ever made for a friend's birthday tomorrow (Alton Brown's Apple Spice cake...SO good, but I won't have any).  Smells DELICIOUS!

Alaskasusan - make a Muffin in a Mug cake for yourself so you aren`t left out.  Spray a coffee mug.  Drop in an egg.  Add a scoop of protein powder - ie soy protein powder, not whey isolate (doesn`t take to the high heat; clumps).  Add some cinnamon, maybe a bit of finely chopped apple, sugar substitute or agave and about an eighth tsp of baking powder.  Stir together and microwave for 60 seconds.  Done.  Happy birthday to you!  And you can add pretty well anything to this..raisins...mashed banana and banana extract....coconut...nuts..... Icing...a bit of cream cheese whipped with sugar substitute does it for me........I don`t use flour, but you could probably use coconut flour or almond flour instead of the protein powder, but the total proteins would be lower......If you used protein powder and egg you would be looking at about 25 grams of protein for this.  Great carb beater!!!  But.....don`t make it ahead of time; they dry out quickly.  Just take the stuff to the party and mix it up there!

Jan, this sounds ridiculously delicious!  I don't crave sweets (probably because for the month of December I was on sweet protein shakes) but when I do, a muffin in a mug will hit the spot!

That's good to hear!  I am glad you learned a lot (though concerning that you lost no weight with a trainer!).  But they say muscle burns more calories than fat, so I am ready to be strong!  You hardly ate anything yesterday!

DC!

I meant to say this a while ago, but I am SO JEALOUS that there is not a Trader Joe's near me! I have a non-RNY friend that lives in L.A., who still follows a similar diet that we do...and she is ALWAYS bragging about how amazing it is at T.J.  We keep trying to get one here in North Alabama...they did a survey of what store you would like to see come to Huntsville, and Trader Joe's won by a landslide.  Probably won't do anything, but here's hoping! :D

I was late for work this morning, so I just grabbed some things from my fridge.  My menu, unfortunately, was boring today.

I'm a little over 5 months from surgery.

B: Greek Yogurt, Blueberry.

S: Land O' Lakes Cheese Square.

L: Turkey Jerkey.

S: Four Rice Cakes Chips (A little carby, but eh...moderation).

D: Turkey Meatloaf! (And DELISH).

On track with liquids and vitamins!

Much love, and good luck with your new gym membership! I understand about the accountability, and trust me...if I could afford it, I would splurge the same amount on myself and my health! :D

Topher, at the risk of sounding dramatic...I cry for you that you don't have Trader Joe's :(  Their food is fast, easy, convenient, affordable...and DELICIOUS!  Have you shopped at one before?  Honestly I would drive an hour to get to a TJs :)

Your menu sounds good, not boring at all.  Especially since you make your turkey meatloaf wrapped in turkey bacon :)

Thanks for helping me rationalize my big spending.  I know it's going to be the best for me.  I am so excited to get going.  My membership starts March 1st because I have a certain weight I want to be before I start at the gym (hint: it's 9.6 lbs away!).  Shouldn't take long but I seem to be in a bit of a stall.  Grrrrrrr.

Hope you have an awesome weekend!
