Dietition appt today, now I'm more confused. St Vincent
Did you tell her you didn't understand things? You can call and schedule another appointment and let her know you will need more than 15 minutes.

Had my surgery at St Vincent 10/3/13. It is a Center for Excellence for a reason. They have been doing this successfully longer than you and I have.
I check in with the dietican monthly, they are NOT idiots and very approachable.
Not sure who you saw, what questions you asked or how often you read the SAME material we BOTH received in the pre op diet class....but the information is there.
They are available online, by phone and in person. Use them as a tool, not an excuse or punching bag. Learning this will only help you become successful.

First, let me say I am sorry you are confused by someone that should be able to help you and answer your questions. The fact that she thinks you can take wet D tells me this woman needs to find another career. :(
I do not agree with the advice given and some of it just makes no sense to me, and this is one of those times where if you feel it is not good advice or in your best interest, you'll have to decide what is best for you.
Here is my schedule and what I found works for me. I will tell you my husband has a different schedule because that is what works for him, but the things we take and the spacing is the same for each of us.
5a (no later than) Thyroid med
6a Multi from two swallow pills, 633 mg calcium from two swallow pills, sublingual B-12, 10K dry A capsule and 10K dry D in two swallow pills
8:15a 633 mg calcium from two swallow pills
10:30a Multi from two swallow pills, 633 calcium from two swallow pills
12:45p 633 calcium from two swallow pills
8p (or so) 1000 mg C from two swallow pills and 90 mg carbonyl iron from two swallow pills
I just moved to swallow iron in the past month and in fact still have a few chewables for days when I'm in the mood for a little grape treat at bedtime. :)
My husband still does all chewables except for A, D and B12. He can 'afford' the calories and I just did not want to 'spend' them on chewables. We buy Celebrate chewables.
HW333--SW 289--GW of 160 5' 11" woman. I only know the way I know & when you ask for input/advice, you'll get the way I've been successful through my surgeon & nutritionist. Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way. Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!
That won't be too much D3. Most post ops end up needing at least 10,000 IU D3 IN ADDITION TO what is in their calcium and multivitamin.

Have you read the ASMBS guidelines that tell you what we need in a multi? http://nutrition.otago.ac.nz/__data/assets/file/0005/4784/Ba riatricNutritionReading.pdf
