everyday I'm so tired and have no energy. I'm waiting on a call back from my Dr when they can schedule my next EGJ Dialation, I really don't think I can wait to long because of the feeling in chest area like before, I'm having problems drinking fluids. I'm trying to drink my Unjury soup really slow but it does not help, can't get enough protein in these days because of the problem I'm having. I sure hope the pain in my incision go away soon it has been 4 weeks, the Dr say's it takes time to heal.

You poor thing--you've really had a time of it! I am betting you really are exhausted given all you've been through and the difficult you've had getting nutrition in. I have no idea if this is even possible...but can the doctor give you some nutrition via IV to help get you over the hump until you are able to take in more nutrition on your own? Bless your heart, your doctor is right, but I know that doesn't make any difference for how you are feeling.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I also had a stricture at 4 weeks post op and had it dilated a total of 5 times before it was totally cured. Feeling exhausted is normal until you are able to get enough intake of protein and fluids. It was 3 months of hell for me but still well worth it. It littereally felt like 2 steps forward 3 step back. Try and concentrated on drinking slowly as much as you can. Do not be surprised if you have to have several dilations. I had more luck with a GI specialist than with my actual surgeon as they are a little more aggresive in their dilations since that is what they soecialize in.

Wishing you good luck and much patience

I heard Dr's don't want anyone messing with their work, at least that what said about my Dr because I'm 3 hours way from her at St Vincents in Carmel In.

Yes I am quite sure my surgeon would not ever suggest me going to a GI doctor but since I am a registered nurse I know I have to take my medical care into my own hands. I deserve the best you can find all the time. Yes surgeons are fabulous at doing surgery but that does not make them fabulous at everything else. Just my opinion

I have a few questions, I live in South Bend In and was thinking about looking into a GI Specialist because I already had two dialations and think I will need another but my Dr is three hours away. If I find one here in my town what do I say when I call and do they have to call my Surgeon ? do you think I will have along wait because I know I can't wait to long ?
