My 600 lb. life
I wish they would show a more complete picture ( so to speak ) of the whole process his patients go through. I would love to know if the doc requires a psych eval and counseling if needed. It would seem by the editing that he doesn't, but of course we don't know for sure.
I do think he is good about telling his patients to shape up if they go off their food plan.
I don't happen to agree with his "3 meals a day and no snacks" plan, but hey...every doc's plans are different.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I agree here also, I wonder if the three meals is anything to do with them bing 600 plus pounds, ? not sure how it would be any different but I just can not say I have known anyone that weight that had the surgery.... I would love to see a show on JUST the dr. WE should email them :)

I generally have to have one shake a day and it's often my snack. I like to have "food" (ie something chewable for b, l and d. But before the gym I will have a cheese stick or maybe a hard boiled egg. And then after the gym I may have a shake. I don't eat dinner until 7:30 or so and lunch is noon and the gym is 5 or 6 and that's a long time to go without food! Luckily a lot of people on here have snacks so I convince myself it's ok :)
I noticed, and it might be due to editing, he has the person try and lose weight, they don't, a month later they do and bam he schedules them for surgery the next week.Maybe because I had to do a years worth of visits to my NUT, it just seems like it is awful fast..but they may do stuff before that we don 't see.

I am pretty much addicted to the show. Don't have cable bu****ch it on Roku Amazon Prime.
The doctor is trying to help people that most people will not work with. He is willing to give them a chance. The first season was success stories. This season we are seeing more people who are not being helped by surgery.
This season is more about people with dysfunctional families :(

I too would like to see more about the doctor. He seems like a no nonsense guy. There was the one woman who simply refused to follow his suggestions. I agree, there's so much that we don't see. I didn't know it had been on before. Is the rny the only wls he does? I think I saw a band in the background in one episode.

Here's his website: http://www.drnowmd.com/hos/Pages/TreatmentPages/Treatments.h tml
He does RNY, lap band, and VSG.
His OH profile says he does the DS (http://www.obesityhelp.com/profiles/bariatric-surgeon/dr-you nan-nowzaradan/), but I don't see that on his official website.
