Dcgirl, what is your secret with the Nosoya noodles??  I tried them and thought they were repulsive!  I thought they smelled and tasted fishy and had the texture of rubber bands.  I've had nightmares about them!  I really wanted to like them. . . but I really hated them!!!

I know!  They do totally smell fishy.  Like, nasty fishy.  I rinse them 3 times, and then boil them (either in the micro or on the stove) for 2 or 3 minutes.  Then I put them in the colander.  I am always adding them to shrimp and pesto in a saucepan or turkey meatballs and red sauce in a saucepan, so I throw the noodles into the saucepan.  The rinsing and boiling take care of the fishiness, and I haven't found the texture bothers me - when they are with sauce!  I am not sure I would just eat them out of the colander but with the sauce (and my always present crushed red pepper) I find them to be a delicious base for my protein.  I also loooove noodles so maybe I am just more tolerant of a slightly weird texture because I had committed to never having noodles ever again, so this is like a rebirth for me lol.

Kenyatta also loves shirataki noodles but there are plenty more people who agree with you and think they are disgusting lol. I am glad I love them :)

just in reference to your Vitamins...you really should try the Upcal D.  I hated the other calcium options and this one has been really easy for me to use.  I buy the little individual packs instead of a tub so I can have them in my office, car, lunchbox, etc and all I do is mix it with an ounce or two of whatever beverage and its gone.  They are really affordable...maybe more than pills but much cheaper than the chews.

It comes down to a simple question: what do you want out of life, and what are you willing to do to get it?

Thanks, Adam!  Poet_Kelly had recommended that once too.  I didn't want to try it because I have tried Metimucil and I hated the graininess of the drink but it sounds like a little packet would fit well into my life - and if it doesn't taste heinous, then I am in!  Because these petite pills have a weird shape and make me gag :)  Thanks again!

I just looked at the pack and it is 5 grams of powder which is right at one teaspoon.  When I say powder, think Goodies...it dissolves very well and since I only use an ounce or two, I don't leave it time to settle.  Will make the drink look cloudy, but it really is flavorless.  Has 500mg of D3 in it too.

Hi DCGirl - GREAT job on your steps, stairs and 21 miles...WOW!

Menu was not good today, I'm still fighting pneumonia, but I'm trying.

B:  1/4 slice FlatOut flatbread (Light Original) w/a tsp of almond butter - hated the FlatOut (so did my family, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the package!) LOL

S:  hard boiled egg

L:  1 - 2 oz tuna fish w/dill, onion on lettuce, mixed in another egg

S:  turkey jerkey

D:  I don't want anything...but going to try 1/2 Greek yogurt w/a few nuts

S:  Going to get in a protein shake since my protein/calories are so bad today

V:  Right on track

W:  Above what I usually do

E:  None today

Going to call it a early night and start fresh tomorrow.

Enjoy your evening with friends.

Take care

You poor thing!  Still with pneumonia?!  :(  Ugh!  I think you are really eating well considering how terrible you must feel.  I haven't tried a FlatOut.  I hate buying something new and then tossing it, but it happens :(  You're not the first person I have seen mix hard-boiled egg in with tuna.  I can honestly say that has never crossed my mind - is it really good?

Dinner has been decided - Peruvian rotisserie chicken.  Perfect for me!  Although when I look up calories, the calories are HIGH for a quarter chicken for example (400 calories).  Wonder if that's cuz of the skin?  I am going to get a chicken breast and eat part of it, no skin.  Damn the skin is sooo good though ha ha.  But, it's all about choices!

Hey ceithlenn! I know I'm going to have bar wings but I am totally in denial about it :)

Shrimp and avocado...sounds delicious! What's the recipe?

I struggled with water today too which is not typical for me. Hmmm, wonder what that's about!
