Unsweetened Cereal
I would skip the cereal, especially with milk, for the reasons that Lora stated.

One option you might look into is Health Wise's Vanilla Cinnamon Cereal. It's higher calorie than most regular cereal, but it only has 1g of sugar and is fortified with 15g of protein. I keep some on hand for when I'm craving something crunchy. I think it's pretty good.
Hi there-I don't think that I really "dump" but cereal seems to make me feel like I've had too much sugar. I find that I can have some sugar and be fine but cereal just doesn't sit well with me at all. I am wondering if it may be the milk. So I can't even eat a "non-sugary" cereal. I have tried cream of wheat but even that makes me feel kind of dizzy and sweaty. I did just fine with cream of wheat in the beginning (when I was on liquids only) but not so well anymore.
Good luck! I know that everyone is different!
Take care,
Pam
Cereal is something I can't keep in my home. One bowl leads quickly to the entire box!

My response..but why? There is practically nothing in it that's good for you, even the granola type ones have a lot of sugar. Get your proteins from eggs, cheese, beans, etc., and get your carbs from mostly veggies and a bit of fruit. Stay away from the stuff made with white flour, rice, potatoes, pasta....all the processed junk and you will be better off. Even hot cereals - Cream of Wheat, etc. don't have much value in them. I have quinoa flakes about once a week and mix them with water, maybe dates or nuts, cinnamon, milk and have a higher protein hot cereal, but this is a very rare occurrence!
