Chronic Pain?
It's no longer thought that you must have pain in specific trigger points to have fibromyalgia. You do have to have pain in all four quadrants - above and below the waist, on both the left and right sides. See a rheumatologist about that.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.

One of my docs said that a lot of post ops have bone pain. Has to do with the joints and bones being used to carrying extra weight and then when the weight loss happens, they kind of shift to get back to where they should have been in a regular body size body. I am doing biofeedback, and it seems to help a lot. Also swimming and meditation. Glad you are getting checked out, too.
Barbara,
I am curious about an update on your pain. I am almost 3-years out. I have had several cordisone injections done from mid back to my neck, and am now on Cymbalta. However, after 6 months it's not working much.
I never had the back issues before surgery. Just neck issues. The pain without anything is almost enabling and I don't know what to do. I am only 30 and working on a degree for a career. The meds make me feel like a zombie and my kids and school work suffer. But without I can't function I hurt so bad. I am from a small town and the doctors say it's not related to the surgery and nobody else has had an issue. So they looked at everything and found nothing. My doctor is lost and has. I clue what to do for me.
Have you found anything to help?
Thanks!
