How far out are you? Honestly, I felt the same way. I pretty much stayed on protein shakes for the first month even though my doctor's plan allowed foods much earlier than that. The thought of eating was overwhelming to me at first. It did get better for me as I'm sure it will for you. Hang in there!!

Nobody is saying you have to chug 16 oz of super thick protein shakes at a time.  Start small, one or two ounces.  Kelly and the others are right, it is unlikely that you will dump on your surgeon's program (high protein low sugar/carb).  your body needs nutrition, to heal and to stay healthy during this period of extreme weight loss.  Just start slow, it will be okay.

You need to branch out or eventually you will hate what you are eating and begin the process of relapse into old habits.  Branch out a bit.  Maybe add one or two more a week.  There is plenty out there.  What happens when you are on a full solid bariatric diet?  Good Luck my friend!

I had my rny on 4/8 and so far the dr said everything is great. Yesterday after reading the posts I did find the courage to eat cream of wheat not much but the warmth was amazing. And I had NO problems! Yay! My husband and kids keep telling me that it's the fear of the un known, and I know that they as well as all of you are right.

One question is the dr suggested creamy soups like tomato but that averages 7 gr of sugar, how much is normally to much? And the yogurt suggested has 9 grams.
