Do you digest/poop corn like you did before surgery? (Yes, I know how gross that question...
I am cracking up writing this… its a little embarrassing but I am DYING to know.
I am 6 and a half months out of RNY and I just realized the other night… I have eaten corn a few times since surgery and it doesn't come out when I poop? I have not seen corn in my stool at all and I have eaten it from the cob, in taco meat bowls, and all sorts of places… is this normal?
Do you still see corn in your poop? Am I in trouble here or is this okay? Am I full of corn kernels?
-Ashley
Yes, it's the same.
Corn is the king of the veggie group,
And it looks the same, when it's in your poop.

Yep, what Tanya said. My surgeon strongly stressed chewing things to mush to help make up for not having the benefit of the normal stomach juices in the digestive process, so I now chew MUCh an more thoroughly than I did pre-op and I usually don't see it in my stool any more. Occasionally I notice a stray kernel, but not often. When I do, it is almost always after I have eaten corn on the cob which seems harder to chew as thoroughly as when corn is in something.
