Mine came out at my first post-op appointment, and that wasn't soon enough for me!!!

Hi,

Were you still having fluids released or were you completely dry?

That would be for your surgeon to determine during your post op appt.  Each surgeon has their threshold for when a drain is removed, based on the amount of drainage accumulating.

Each doctor is different. For instance mine does not always use one. So I was lucky and missed that experience!

depends on how much is still draining.  I had to keep a journal and write down how much I dumped out every 4 hours.
