It seems like there has been a lot of us struggling lately so maybe this would be a great time to remind ourselves how far we have come.

I'm going to share my favorite non-surgical/non-scale victory and would love to hear about the moments and milestones of everyone else.

So my favorite NSV I think was the first time I was able to go to the grocery store and buy only exactly what I needed without the sense of being deprived or the anxiety that I would need to have all the extra bad for me foods for me later. I couldn't have even imagined being able to do that before surgery. It really was the moment I knew I could do this!

So that's my fav..... How about sharing yours...

Great idea! My favorite NSV was being able to decline dessert (even a bite) after dinner out with my girlfriends. No amount of "just try one bite" moved me. I watch them devour three delectable desserts and I was not even tempted!

I was so proud of myself afterwards that I treated myself to a sugar free jello pudding when I got home! All I could think while eating my pudding, was "you go girl"!

that was a huge victory for me. Our get togethers are notorious for over eating thee most decadent desserts we can find. Before surgery sweets were my down fall and I proudly dogged that bullet and didn't even think twice about it.

I am 59 years old and am on the beach in Maui now in Hawaii for the first time ever...and I would have NEVER ever come here pre surgery, much less play in the surf and the pool all day long!  I do NOT look my age, love just slipping into my suit as soon as I wake and go for a run on the beach followed by sun, sand and sea! So so so glad to have this NSV! Love my RNY and very thankful for it. It's NOT to late to get a life!

My hair has been falling out and I have been feeling dreary recently so yesterday I went to my hair dresser and said cut it all off!

when I got home my very critical daughter looked at me and said...you look allot like Cris Jenner!  I looked at her like she was crazy and she turned me around to the mirror and ...well maybe a few more pounds off...and squinting a little....she could have been right!!

My favorite NSVs have been being able to walk long distances and for long times without pain, crossing my legs, not having to use a seat belt extender on a plane, fitting into a seat on a plane easily, being able to cross my legs WHILE sitting in an airplane seat-that one blew my mind, wearing single digit sizes, and my latest favorite: buying tall boots!!!!!

I really wanted some for this fall and winter, so I went in search for boots to see if I could find any to fit me. Even though I've lost 150 lbs, I still have chubby calves, so it wasn't as easy as I was hoping it would be. I found some yesterday. I had to buy wide calf boots with some with stretchy panels in them, but hey..I'll take it!

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

My daughter who is a size 4 has to buy wide leg boots. She has always been thin.A lot of people have wide legs regardless of their size they are or were. You can find boots out there Amazon has a ton.I can't wait to wear a pair with a sweater dress that I would never have worn before.

I think being able to walk for hours is one of the best NSVs I have had.Being able to cross my legs was one of the best feelings.I think my favorite is being able to fit in any booth without my gut and boobs being on the table.

Airplane seat was one of the best also.Being able to put the tray table down was awesome.Another is shopping in regular stores being able to not just look at the earrings and necklaces.

One NSV I just had was my friend gave me a Brighton necklace saying let it snow let it snow it did not fit me.I had to use an extender.Well I tried it on today and it fit. I don't want snow yet.

Oh and to not have my ass hang over the chair in my kitchen.Sorry this list is long.NSVs keep us going even when the scale is not moving.

I have lots of NSVs, but my favorites are dropping medications for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acid reflux, metabolic syndrome, and finally iron supplements, and, after five years of use, being able to stop using a CPAP two weeks ago.  Another favorite, swinging with my granddaughter and being able to sit on the floor with her (and easily get back up)! Lots of happy dances!

My favorite so far is a combo, having the energy to ride my bike 15 miles round trip to the mall to go shopping and then buying the same style of trousers for my 16 year old skinny son and I at almost the same size!
