What a great topic. One we all can learn from, I suppose. I am only 14 months post op, but have had some bounceback, too. Mainly bc I have introduced the bad carbs again. I am now in therapy, meditating daily, continuing to exercise and journal, but I am still grazing all day, instead of eating meals, which by the end of the day, puts me above my calorie limit. Every day is a struggle, bc I want to lose this 10-12 lbs, but without making myself crazy. One day at a time tho!!

I am 5 and 1/2 years out.  And I've just had 10 lbs of real gain.........and I know EXACTLY why!  I got "lazy" with my eating-basically just picking up whatever and eating it whether I am hungry or not, and then two weeks in Italy.....oh, the gelato, pizza, pasta and wine!!!!!!!!!!  Now, I "pay the piper" so to speak.  I just joined a 60 day health challenge with a bunch of friends.  It will make me recommit to logging my food and my exercise.  I've never stopped exercising, and that is really the key for me.  I do some pretty intense workouts and run regularly. That allows me to pretty much eat and drink what I want..........within reason.......but two weeks of Italy eating, and um......my jeans are snug.  I'm not freaking out, and I know that with diligence I'll get it off before Christmas. I will NEVER go on a "diet" again.  I will not eat "fake" food, nor will I deprive myself.  I already "dieted" myself to 330 lbs....never again.  What I will continue to do is make choices:  what am I willing to do to be xxx size or weight?  I can guarantee I am not willing to starve to be a size 4.  I am a solid 8/10 and have been since 1 year after surgery.  Most of my clothes still fit (some of my jackets are too tight in the shoulders, but that is from weight lifting), but I am "puffier" than I was with this extra 10!!

As far as emotional eating, seek counseling.  You can learn some great coping skills by working with a professional.  We are here for you too!!
