Caloric intake post 2+ years
I am just now 2 years and 3 months post-op. I have in the last two months been able to eat almost anything except greasy food and sugary foods. Can some of you old timers tell me the amount of food that we should consume at one time and the daily calorie intake for a very active person? I have been trying for 1200 but usually just get 800. At times I do 1500 but I am still losing weight.....I need to stop losing. I only weigh 115 pounds now and I cannot lose anymore or I will be considered anorexic. My BMI is already 18....help please...ty
Everyone is different, depending on your height, weight, activity level, etc. I had surgery a week before you, and have been at a steady weight for well over a year, at a BMI of 23. It took me a little while to figure out how many calories I needed to maintain a steady weight. And my number will not be the same as yours.
Whatever your number is, it's obviously more than you've been eating if you are still losing. So eat more. Just make the additional food dense protein, not just empty calories.
