I do well until early afternoon- I feel lacodasical. Preop, I was pretty energetic during the day, but I'm starting to feel A LITTLE sluggish. I'm getting my proteins, working on the water, taking my multi and calcium. What might I add to give an afternoon energy boost?

Are you taking B12 as part of your multi?  I know that helps me.  I went through a phase like that but it passed quickly.  I hope you feel better soon!

I'm not on B12 yet. Do labs next month. Do you think it would be bad to add that in before my labs?

I've been taking B12 for over a year (since I was diagnosed with Underactive thyroid).  It doesn't hurt to check w/your doc.  I'd just tell him/her you're feeling sluggish and would a B12 vitamin be OK to try?  Hope this helps!  xoxo

The ASMBS recommends all RNY patients take B12.

I'm pre-surgery but my Dr. and NUT said b12 would be great for energy.  Hope this helps.

I think that's a common time to get sleepy.  Try high protein lunch, low in starchy carbs, lots of water, and a short walk if you can.  Also make sure you're taking your iron and B12.
