What's on your menu today, RNYers? Holidays are over! Vacation pics inside :)
I have not been there, but I want to! And I'd eat falafel there anyway ;)
For what it's worth, I don't get foamies when I eat it, it just.. sits heavy in my stomach if that makes sense. But we have different plumbing, so I don't know if that's something RNYers experience too.
I hope you have a blast wherever you go. I need to get working on figuring out where I want to go for dinner for my birthday in March. I'm debating between trying a new place or going back to Restaurant Eve in Alexandria :P

Well as you likely know, the U St corridor has blown up with new restaurants so that could be fun! I am obsessed with Lupo Verde at 14th and T...their cheese and charcuterie is the best in the city if not the country. It's truly authentic Italian. And their scallops are delicious. It's small plates. I would vote for that in a second. Barcelona, a few blocks down, is Spanish tapas and FABULOUS. Also, Doi Moi is a serious fave of mine. It's Thai and Vietnamese street food. Phenomenal spicy cashews, meat skewers, and tons of other deliciousness. I would recommend all three!
I haven't tried Restaurant Eve but I will check it out online!
Glad to see you back, Em, you've been missed.
It sounds like everything is going fantastic for you.

Hi Grim! Happy new year! And thanks for the welcome. It was weird to be away for two weeks. Nice, but also nice to be back to my routine. I think staying connected on here is KEY for me. I need to be a successful vet like you :)
And yes, life is pretty freaking awesome right now. Sometimes I pinch myself. Short term goal now is to reach 145 lbs, maintain that for a few months, and (gulp) go under the knife for a LBL, BL and maybe arms too. I see that as long-term weight loss insurance as well as making me comfortable naked lol.
I hope you enjoyed your holidays :) Em

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I've read this post for awhile but have never joined in. Now that the holidays are over I need a little more accountability in my life! Today is my first day home from the holidays so choices are limited until I go grocery shopping. I'm using my most recent NSV as inspiration to keep going. Over the holidays my husband and I ran into someone I had a huge crush on in high school. I looked better than Ive ever looked before while he looked his age.
Time since surgery: A week shy of 4 months
B: Quest bar prob cookies and cream
L: turkey, laughing cow cheese wedge, fiber gourmet crackers
D: I have no idea yet but it will be a meat and veggie combination.
S: Nectar chocolate truffle protein drink
Welcome to the board and what a great NSV!

Em your trip looks amazing. I am so jealous! Glad to hear you were able to enjoy but still maintain your weight. You are going to love the Salted Carmel yogurt! It is delicious!! I need to get back to Walmart and get some more before its gone. Also loving a pumpkin cheesecake one that I found too. Post op 28 months and weight at 119.8 today. Exercise started as Lily and I bundled up and did one mile at the park already. Only one mile because she flipped off the back of my quickly moving treadmill and bruised her hip muscle a week ago. Today was the first day we could walk a bit and she seems fine. I will finish up three more miles after my coffee in a few minutes. I'll also be riding the bike for 25 minutes this afternoon. On track with vitamins and fluids so far. Here's the food plan: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with nuts and half a banana with peanut butter L 3 oz deli turkey and cheese and a Greek yogurt S apple with peanut butter D 3 oz pork loin with 1/2 c brussel sprouts S oats with nuts and seeds. Have a great Friday everyone and enjoy your weekend too!
Awwww poor Lily! I am glad she is healing though.
I mean, I love anything salted caramel so I cannot wait to try this yogurt. I bought 4 and I am hopeful they will be tasty. I don't know what I would do without Light and Fit. Their protein to carb ratio combined with amazing flavor, have turned me into a greek yogurt lover!
Emily your pictures are amazing. Welcome back. My Holiday vacation had my son, daughter in law, and grandson visiting for a week. Took them to the airport yesterday. When they were here I ate more carbs than usual, went to PF Changs for dinner, yet didn't feel out of control. The scale was fine but happy to get back to more normal (for us) eating.
B: premier protein
S: chopped chicken liver and 5 wheat thins
L: salad with diced roast beef
D: small piece Lasagna (the last of what I made, too good to toss. Used WW no boil noodles I found at Whole Foods.)
