Confused about the pouch

There are many people who lose the weight and maintain the loss without doing significant exercise. Exercise makes you healthier, but is not mandatory for losing or maintaining your weight. It all boils down to calories consumed versus calories expended.  If you don't burn extra calories by exercising, you will have to eat fewer calories.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I'm not going to blast, but the only way to gain weight is by consuming too many calories. I'm sorry about your friend, but it is just too easy to consume extra calories, and that will always lead to regain.

30ml is one ounce. Like the size of a medicine cup. It may start that size, but it won't stay that little. Even after a few month it will hold a few ounces. I am 6 months out and I can eat 4-6oz most of the time, but it depends on what it is. If I am eating salad, it might be more, if I am eating chicken it might be 2 oz - 3oz depending on the day. Good Luck!

I compare it to a newborn baby stomach.  It will grow to full size in about a year and be between eight and twelve ounces.  You can get plenty of food in there, especially soft food or food that is well chewed up.

It is extremely easy to have regain and to learn to eat around your pouch.  I started with a mini pouch of 15 ml.  I don't know the current size, but know that it is easy for me to overeat.  I have to count calories, measure food and weigh myself daily or I will start to gain weight.

My doc said the pouch is extremely hard to stretch.  And it will be my tool the rest of my life

Because we have no pyloric valve, liquids will wash food right on out of the pouch leaving room for more. It is easy to eat too much when you wash the food out of your pouch.

Grazing all day... especially on high calorie foods is a big culprit.

But I thought you were not suppose to drink before or after you eat?

Right. You're not. That's why. Just because you aren't supposed to doesn't mean people follow the guidelines. Hence the weight gain.

I was told at hospital my pouch was 2 oz....but would eventually go to the size of an egg....I didn't know the pouch was so high up..the nurse said the pouch is level with a male nipple  (I guess bc womens boobs go south they cant compare it to females  LOL)
