Help - constipation
I am almost 6 months out from RNY surgery and have lost 58 pounds. I have been losing and gaining 1 pound for the past month which is frustrating but I can deal with it (I hope ). My biggest problem is I am so constipated and only go once a week. I have used miralax every day for the past week and still nothing. Is this the new normal? Does anyone else have this problem and how do you deal with it? Thanks, I appreciate your help
I know what you're going thru. I did Miralax too and still do occasionally. What helped me the most was adding fiber powder to my shakes and water. Instead of the teaspoon it calls for, I add a tablespoon. I also use Fiber Gummies. They are 5 calories with 5 grams of fiver. The bottle says 2/day. I chew 4-6 a day.

I am just 2 weeks out of surgery. However I suffered form constipation due to irritable bowel before hand.My doctor prescribe me Senokot ( you can also get it over the counter. But if you are covered ask your dr for a script. Any way. I started at 1 at night. Didn't work. Then 2. I am up to 3 at bedtime and having a bowel movement every morning. Don't worry if it's a little "runny" that's how it works. Oh ya. and exercise and lots of water. Hope this helped
If it gets bad, you can look up episiotomy on youtube, and get a flashlight, mirror and scalpel . . .
