Limit to the amount of Protein at one time
See my response to one of the other respondents. The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery says that only being able to absorb 30g of protein at a time is a myth.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
There is no limit to how much protein you can absorb at once. As Lora pointed out, it's a myth.
But I'm confused why you feel you need to double the shake, and drink it all in one sitting. Can you really not divide it and drink it at two different times?

All good info, Thanks for the input.
I was trying to get a min 90 Grams a day as recommended by surgeon/nut, but with only the single morning coffee & a shake at night before bed that was 48 grams. My 3 meals were about an 1-2 oz of some type of protein (fish, chicken, etc) that was usually about 10 grams, which put me about 75 ish plus or minus, depending if I went the route of cheese or something less dense.
My main focus has been counting protein... as some pointed out I should at the very least due an calorie count analysis to see where I am...
Again Thanks!
What brand of protein shake are you using?
Premier Protein RTD has 30 grams of protein per serving. For me, it's not hard to reach 80 grams of protein per day when I have a shake for breakfast.

I was using Syntrax protein w/ unsweet almond milk. the Syntrax was 23 G Protein & the almond milk was 1 g protein. I had been counting carbs also trying to keep it relatively low, and the shake/latte mix only had I think it was 2 and the almond milk was 1.
So total for 1 (single) 8 oz shake was 24 G protein/ 3 Carbs, & double that if I was doing a double (which I 'll be stopping based on this string...)
