Question after surgery

I know we all start passing gas sometime after surgery. I had surgery on Tuesday and I belch a lot but have only let out 1 little tutt. Is this normal? I don't feel like I have gas pains building up.

It took me several days to pass gas. 6 days to have a bowel movement.

I didn't have much gas in my digestive system due to the pre-op purge and liquid diet. Most of my post op gas pain was due to the air they blow into the cavity during the surgery. These bubbles just put pressure all over inside the torso and take time to dissolve or be absorbed by the body. If you're not having any trouble with this, don't complain! LOL...chances are that much of it dissipated as they stitched your incisions up or you're body was just able to more easily reabsorb the excess air and less you pain free. Either way, consider it a blessing! As far as gastric gas goes, I didn't have a BM until nearly a week post op.  and minimal gas. probably due to being on liquids.I didn't belch much either. Now at 2 1/2 post op, I still rarely have gas and belching. I attribute it to better eating and probably the Greek Yogurt that keeps me pretty regular so nothing blocks up the plumbing and allows gas to really form. I belched out most of mine. Don't remember much of the other, but my gas pain was gone a couple hours after surgery (for the most part). 

I had severe gas pains day after surgery...it just goes to show we are all different  :)
