No BM since surgery
Today is day 7 after surgery and I haven't had a BM since last Monday morning. I was on liquids for a week before and I have only has very soft food since Saturday.
Should I be concerned? Was thinking to call my surgeon tomorrow, but don't want to bother then if this long is normal. I'm tooting like crazy, so I know I'm not completely blocked it anything.
Definitely cal. I had a very painful bowel impaction 10 days out that caused a fissure for which I had to have surgery last week. I thought that it was normal post-op to not go much because of the liquid diet. Wow was I wrong!!

I called my surgeon on day seven after surgery because of this issue, but I was in pain by that point. I took Milk of Magnesia and Miralax that day, and the problem was resolved the next morning. The resident from my surgeon's office told me to use a suppository, which I would have if the laxatives didn't kick in that morning.

I was in the hospital for 5 days and I don't think I went until day 7 or so. I was worried too, but it finally happened for me. I started on Miralax the day I got home from the hospital... good luck.
