Barilife

Does anyone take these ? my friend has been taking these for about 5 years now and she says all her blood work is good. The Barilife is a Bariatric pill with all the vitamins needed. My friend had rny.

To get the recommended 200% per day of all your vitamins, you would need SIX of these every day. That means you would be spending over $90 per month. And because they include calcium and iron in the same vitamin, you won't absorb the iron. So you'll need to take more of that.

Most people have minimal labwork done, and take someone's word that they are "fine." I would never consider taking these. Too many pills, way too expensive. There are far better choices.

Exactly. I spend $20-25/month tops. I am frugal and would not spend this much on vitamins.

What do you take?

I take 9 Calcium Citrate Petites a day, 2 Complete Multi a day (Wellness brand ) 1-B1 100 1x week,1- B12 500 every day, 5 Perfect Iron and 1-1000mg Vit C and I also take 1-50,000 D3 a week was taking 2 a week but number was to high.

Just because something refers to "bariatric" doesn't mean it's a perfect pill.  

I used the Centrum Chewables when I was first post-op, then after a few years switched to a regular pill.  I also use the Nature's brand (from Walmart) for Vit D3, Magnesium, and Calcium Citrate, not Carbonate.  

I go to Trader Joe's for the B Vitamin Combo sublingual, which gives me all the B6, B12, etc., needed.  I only do the B Combo 4X weekly, as that maintains my B's at optimal levels.

Get your test results printouts;  don't go along with "it looks fine" because it might not be.  You have to step up and take responsibility for your own health.  A revolutionary thought for a lot of people!

When you switched pills do you mean regular Centrum is that your multi vitamin take 2x daily?

Yes, it is the regular old OTC Centrum, but I only take one daily.  My numbers are great per my annual tests, so I don't feel I need to super-supplement by doubling up.

At my age I use the Centrum Silver.
