Wow, can't believe I am 9 days away from surgery.  I am both excited and nervous.  Nervous of the unknown. I have known nothing but morbid obesity for as long as I can remember.  Any pointers, suggestions or words of wisdom.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll do great. After surgery, walk as soon as you can, as often as you can. And drink. All the time, drink. There's no more certain way to feel like crap than not drinking enough.

Keep us posted.

The inknown is scary. Most people will tell you they have no regrets. I have been obese and morbidly obese pretty much my whole life. This is way better.

Grim is right...walk and drink fluids.

I was scared too and weighed 273 pounds on August 29,2012. I had been obese my whole life and knew nothing else. I had high blood pressure, diabetes and my cholesterol numbers were attrocious. Today I weigh 121 pounds and have for 2 years. I truly did not understand how much life I was missing and how much my weight limited. I couldn't even walk down my basement stairs without being winded. Today I can do anything I want and walk 4 miles a day for exercise. I love my new life free of high blood pressure and off all meds for cholesterol and diabetes. And you will too!

KLE,

I had my RNY 13 months ago. Best decision of my life. No complications whatsoever. Good luck and keep us posted.

Robin

Also, OH has been a blessing for me.

My daughter had her surgery on Jan 13, all is well!  Follow what the docs and nurses tell you.  Sometimes the food restrictions are overwhelming.  I have never read so many labels on food before but it is quite educational.  Best thing we did was get up and walk walk walk.
